What is PTV+?

PTV+ combines an electronically controlled rear differential lock with targeted braking of the inside rear wheel. The inside rear wheel is braked briefly, so more drive torque flows to the outside wheel. The result: the car turns in more willingly, is less prone to understeer and feels more agile, without the rear stepping out uncontrollably.

The advantage on the circuit

PTV+ works above all in medium-speed corners and on corner exit. You feel a more precise front end and can pick up the throttle earlier, because the locking differential settles the rear axle. For cup cars, GT3 and Turbo models this technology is close to essential – it combines agility with traction.

Locking differential versus mechanical LSD

Classic limited-slip differentials work with a fixed locking rate. PTV+ controls electronically and by situation – sometimes locking hard, sometimes barely at all. That setup suits a wide range of uses, from daily driving to the circuit. Pure race cars often run an additional or purely mechanical limited-slip differential.

Experience PTV+ with ESC

You will find PTV+ in the GT and Turbo models of the ESC fleet. At our track days the difference is clearest in fast corner combinations – our coaches show you how to use the mechanism deliberately. See what it does for you.
