PDCC

What is PDCC?

PDCC is Porsche's active electromechanical roll stabilisation. Instead of conventional passive anti-roll bars it uses actively controlled electromechanical units. Sensors measure lateral acceleration and body movement; the bars respond within milliseconds and hold the car almost flat through corners. The result: less roll, more precise turn-in and more confidence at speed.

PDCC on the circuit

On track the reduced roll is worth a great deal: the tyre contact patch stays more even and grip builds more predictably. It pays off most in fast direction changes – through Eau Rouge at Spa, for example, or in chicanes. In Sport Plus the system works more aggressively and gives direct chassis feedback.

PDCC versus a pure sports chassis

Track-focused models such as the GT3 and GT3 RS deliberately go without PDCC – the engineers rely on passive bars optimised for maximum feedback. For everyday sports cars living between comfort and performance, PDCC is the more elegant answer: comfort when cruising, circuit performance at the touch of a button.
