What is the Red Bull Ring?

The Red Bull Ring sits at Spielberg in the Austrian province of Styria and is one of the fastest and most atmospheric circuits in Europe. It is 4.318 km long with only ten corners, but the elevation changes are dramatic and the Alpine backdrop is hard to beat. It is home to the Austrian Grand Prix and to countless DTM and WEC events.

Layout and character

Few corners, but every one of them counts: the Niki Lauda corner at the end of the pit straight, the notorious Remus corner with its uphill braking zone, and the fast right-hander that sets up the run to the line. The straights are short, yet the constant climbing and dropping makes every acceleration phase feel explosive. At roughly 700 metres above sea level naturally aspirated engines give away a little power, while turbocharged cars barely notice.

Track day at the Red Bull Ring

The Red Bull Ring is a track day driver's circuit: compact enough to learn the lines quickly, demanding enough never to get boring. The facilities are Formula 1 standard, the garages modern and the safety level high. At ESC events Spielberg is usually a yearly highlight.
