What is the Lausitzring?

The Lausitzring is a multi-purpose circuit at Klettwitz in Brandenburg — a combination of a conventional Grand Prix layout of 4.255 km and a tri-oval with banked turns built to an American pattern. DEKRA has run it as a test and event facility since 2017.

Layout variants

The Grand Prix layout is technical, with straights, chicanes and fast corners. The tri-oval can be driven separately — pure high speed on banking, which is close to unique in Europe. Shorter configurations and handling layouts are available for track days, which makes the Lausitzring unusually flexible.

Character and history

The Lausitzring opened in 2000 as an ambitious project, and Champ Car, the DTM and countless other events followed. It is quieter today, which makes it something of an insider tip for track days: good facilities, and the chance to try several layouts in one visit. It is easy to reach from both Berlin and Dresden.

The Lausitzring with ESC

ESC runs track days at the Lausitzring, often as mixed events combining Grand Prix sessions with runs on the tri-oval. In a fully insured Porsche you get both worlds in a single day. Variety in Brandenburg.
